Reconciling the immensity of the world with the intimacy of personal experience.

Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi is coming under attack for her past criticality of the Bush Administration and the CIA.

The House speaker ignored other attempts to ask her questions about the CIA and her allegations last week. Granted, there has been a lot of activity in Congress this week. Ahead of a week-long recess, sweeping bills to reform the credit card industry, the defense acquisitions process, provide nearly $91 billion to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, revamp federal mortgage assistance programs and help the DOJ go after mortgage fraud were all considered by the House.

Handmaid (One Year Project)

RULES:

1.     I will make one handkerchief, everyday, for one year.

2.     I will begin on the Autumn Equinox, September 22, 2008 and end on September 21, 2009.

3.     I will embroider two motifs on each handkerchief:

a.     A "monogram" mined from news sources, advertisements, internet, or other daily encounters

b.     Text or image relevant to each particular day.

4.     The deadline to complete this daily task is midnight.

5.     Unfinished handkerchiefs will remain unfinished.
